US Stocks Remain Sharply Lower On Japan Concerns;DJIA Down 1.8%
NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--U.S. stocks plunged deep into the red as fresh aftershocks in Tokyo and the worsening nuclear situation in Japan sent investors scurrying again for safety. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 215 points, or 1.8%, to 11777, while the Standard & Poor's 500-stock index shed 30 points, or 2.3%, to 1267.
