Spammers Exploit Craze for Google+ Invites

Cyber security firm Sophos exposed a Google+ invite scam that sends out invites that look like the real thing, except the link takes the tricked users to a pharmacy Web site that sells Viagra. The site even features a special July 4th sale.
Taking advantage of overwhelming demand and offering something too good to refuse is a tried and true technique criminals use online.
For example, back when Gmail invites were a hot commodity, criminals sent out a bogus email to Gmail users to inform them that they have more Gmail invites. To activate these new invites, all they have to do is type in their username and password in a submission form.

Monaco's prince, new bride hold religious ceremony in palace courtyard

CNN reported today the ceremonies held in Monaco. A day after tying the knot in a civil ceremony, Monaco's ruler and his South African bride reaffirmed their union Saturday in a religious ceremony at the prince's palace.
The event kicked off the second day of festivities in the small seaside nation of 33,000, where a holiday has been declared to celebrate the wedding of Charlene Wittstock, a former Olympic swimmer, and Prince Albert.
The 3,500 guests -- which include 20 heads of state, fellow royals and a number of moguls and celebrities -- began to arrive hours earlier Saturday afternoon at the palace, the same place where one day earlier the couple's civil ceremony had taken place.
They walked through Palace Square into the courtyard, passing hundreds of onlookers who followed the nuptials on a pair of giant screens.
The last one to stroll the carpet, just before 5 p.m., was Wittstock herself. Her white wedding gown was designed by Giorgio Armani, according to the fashion designer's Facebook page.

As half a million overjoyed Canadians gathered yesterday to catch a glimpse of William and his new bride Kate, fan ­Francine Dorion, 50, said: “She reminds me of Diana, she just steals you.”
Another said the visit reminded them of those the late princess made in the 80s and early 90s with Prince Charles and all the pomp and ceremony that went with it. The onlooker added: “We haven’t seen scenes like this since Diana came here.”
And in a touching moment as Kate and Wills left the carriage, a lone voice cried out “Happy birthday, Diana” to mark what would have been her 50th. Kate, 29, simply smiled, realising what the gesture would have meant to her husband.
The 29-year-old prince appeared calm and ­unruffled by the comment.
Kate mania swept Canada as the couple arrived in the capital Ottawa as part of their seven-city tour.
They rode together in a horse-drawn coach for the first time since their wedding.

Duchess of Cambridge takes style tips from the Queen as she recycles favourite Reiss dress for Canada Day celebrations

It seems the Duchess of Cambridge has a few old favourites among the 30 outfits she has packed for her trip to the U.S. and Canada.
The white Reiss dress she chose for a citizenship ceremony in Ottawa this morning was the same one she wore for her official engagement portrait with Prince William last November.
The 29-year-old paid tribute to the host nation's flag by teaming the £159 frock with red accessories. Her hat by her favourite milliner Sylvia Fletcher at Lock & Co, featured Canada's national symbol, the maple leaf, as did her diamond brooch, which was borrowed from the Queen.

Time is running out to claim $250G prize

SOMERVILLE — The odds are stacked against you — 1 in 3.9 million, to be exact — of predicting the five winning numbers (minus the Mega Ball) in the Mega Millions lottery. Someone beat those odds, but has yet the claim the ticket.
On July 27, 2010, a Mega Millions ticket worth $250,000 was purchased at McAleavy’s Newsstand at 10 E. Main St. in Somerville.
The ticket has been unclaimed and, by New Jersey law, the holder of the ticket has until July 27 to claim the prize.
“The holder of this winning ticket should immediately sign the back of the ticket and call lottery headquarters or visit a local Lottery retailer to file their claim before the ticket expires,” New Jersey Lottery Executive Director Carole Hedinger said in a statement.
There were 15 winning tickets worth the $250,000 prize, including three from New Jersey. The other two in-state winners were Silvia Gailliard of Westampton and Pamela Kopp of Hasbrouck Heights. The tickets matched all the numbers but the Mega Ball.
The winning Mega Millions game numbers drawn on July 27, 2010, were: 2, 7, 10, 16 and 29 and the gold Mega Ball number was 8.
An annual average of $38.2 million has gone unclaimed over the past five years. It reached a peak in 2010 with $42.2 million unclaimed.
By law: “Unclaimed prize money for the prize on a winning ticket or share shall be retained by the director for the person entitled thereto for one year after the drawing in which the prize was won. If no claim is made for said money within such year, the prize money shall be allocated to State institutions and State aid for education in the same manner as lottery revenues are allocated for such purposes under this act.”
McAleavy’s Newsstand has been in business since 1989 and participating in the New Jersey Lottery since the state added Mega Millions in 1999.
“We sell to a lot of neighbors around the area and to businesses that start office pools,” said Jesal Amin, the store’s owner. “When the jackpot goes up, we usually sell to a lot more people.”
The holder of the ticket should contact lottery headquarters at 609-599-5875. A claim form can be printed from the website www.state.nj.us/lottery and mailed to P.O. Box 041, Trenton, NJ 08625-0041, Attn: Claims/Validations.

Montreal Police said that they would wait until the end of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to question Chara, and with the season in the books, they are close to the end of their investigation.

Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon The 3D IMAX Experience Review

Well, it’s yet another chapter of the Autobots versus the evil Decepticons for the fate of Earth as we know it in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Directed by Michael Bay and produced by Steven Spielberg, Dark of the Moon is the third movie of the Transformers series, which is of course based on Hasbro’s Transformers Action Figures.

All of your favorite Autobots are back: Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide, Sideswipe, and the leader Optimus Prime. They’ve been protectors of the human race and have been aiding the US in keeping peace…that is, until the Autobots return. When both the Autobots and Decepticons discover what’s hidden in the dark side of the moon, chaos breaks out in an even more intense battle than we’ve seen. You’ll meet some new characters too, including a new villain, Shockwave.

Pretty much the entire cast is back with one exception: bad girl Megan Fox. She was replaced by the very beautiful Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Fox was hardly missed. There’s a quick mention in the movie that her character dumped Shia LeBeouf’s character, Sam Witwicky…and some how he pulls off this new ‘fox’ of a girlfriend. It did not seem like the plot changed much for the role replacement.

There are also a few special guests that we were glad to see, most notably Buzz Aldrin, one of the first men to walk on the moon. Other new actors include John Malkovich, Alan Tudyk, Ken Jeong, Frances McDormand, and even a brief appearance by Bill O’Reilly.

Shia LaBeouf couldn't keep his eyes - or lips - off his girlfriend yesterday in Studio City, California.
The Transformers star, 24, put on a very public display of affection with Karolyn Pho as they grabbed lunch and smoothies.
Shia, casual in jeans and a T-shirt, wrapped his arm around stylist Karolyn, 22, as they strolled along before planting a lingering kiss on her as they waited to cross the street.
The actor tore his eyes away from Karolyn, who looked summery in a print maxi dress, long enough to cross the road to Sweet Butter Cafe, where they enjoyed a leisurely lunch.
Shia gazed at his girlfriend as they sat outside at the restaurant, a favourite of theirs that they visit frequently.
The pair went public with their romance in February but have been linked since December, a month after Shia split from his Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps co-star Carey Mulligan.
Their lunch at Sweet Butter Cafe clearly didn't fill them up, as the couple then went on to Jamba Juice, where they continued their public canoodling as they waited for their smoothies.
Shia and Carey, who dated for 18 months, announced their split in November and Carey has since moved on with British theatre actor, Eddie Redmayne.

If there's one major thing to take away from the first season of Mob Wives, it's that as much bravado and swagger as these women may try to give off, they're human just like the rest of us and eventually the toll of an unusual lifestyle is bound to start affecting them. In past episodes, we've seen Karen deal with crushing press, Renee find the strength to leave her ex once and for all, and even typically tough Carla struggle with just how to tell her kids where their father had been for the past 6 years.
The season one finale was all about the unraveling of Drita D'avanzo and it was both a tough and captivating watch. Drita's volatile relationship with Lee may have finally reached its breaking point with a shocking revelation of his infidelity during his short stay home (my notes: "SHUT UP. SHUT. UP." and about 500 underlines) and that stress, frustration, and anger bubbled over when it came time to discuss the issue of Karen's apparent fudging of the timeline of her relationship with Lee and how that made Drita look. When the fight between Karen and Drita was finally broken up by production, it was clear: things had changed for the Mob Wives.

If Twitter is any indication, the most anticipated performance in this evening’s BET Awards belongs to Kelly Rowland. Formerly of girl group Destiny’s Child, Rowland fell into obscurity for several years before staging a comeback that earned her two Grammys for her solo work. She has stepped even farther into the public view this summer through her role as a judge on Simon Cowell’s singing competition, “The X Factor,” in the U.K.
Yet, how big is Rowland’s comeback? And, more importantly, will she always be held up next to former group mate Beyoncé Knowles? It was widely reported that it was Knowles’ decision to leave Destiny’s Child, and rumored that the lead singer viewed her band mates as less talented liabilities who would hold her back.
It may be that very snub that’s kept comparisons between the two alive. Even Entertainment Weekly’s Brad Wete asked in his live blog of tonight’s awards, “Will Kelly Rowland outshine her Destiny’s Child bestie?”
