Brangelina’s brood making a ‘mess’ in Cannes

Los Angeles: Hollywood`s `It` couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are living it up in Cannes along with their six children and the actress says that the brood is happy ‘creating a mess’.

Jolie is at the festival to promote `Kung Fu Panda 2` while Pitt came for his film `The Tree of Life`, and they have brought the children along, reported Us magazine online.

"Yes, we`re all in France. Our whole family is in France, and we`re very happy," said the 35-year-old actress.

"They`re running around the hotel now, playing games and making a giant mess! I`m sure they`re having a great time. They love it here," added the Oscar winner.

Jolie and 47-year-old Pitt`s children --- Maddox, 8, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 4, and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne -- are staying at a private villa complete with a chef and a pool full of inflatable toys.

But the busy parents have managed to sneak in some time for romance and have been spotted at parties around town.

'Angie walked straight in the door of their Los Feliz home, showed him theKama Sutra, then told him that they wouldn't be having sex for a month,' says our source.

'Brad isn't so sure, but she's insisting they try it out.'

Michelle Keegan, who won the award for Sexiest Female for the third year running, lived up to her title as she stunned in a floor length, gold, Ariella gown.



She said: “I think every one goes that extra mile for the soap awards as it only happens once a year and it’s the only time when everyone from every soap gets together and has a laugh.”

The bright green creation with black ruffled bottom teamed with bright pink shoes certainly stood out on the cobbles!

Samia Smith was proudly supporting the high street in an elegant, cream gown from Whistles, but confessed she had a makeup disaster before hand which nearly ruined her outfit.

Sarah Jessica Parker managed to fit in all her promo duties for her film I Don’t Know How She Does It in only 15 minutes. She hit the red carpet at record speed, made a speech, shook hands with fans and industry types, did some air kissing before rushing on to meet friends at the very fancy Hotel Du Cap.

Poor Michelle Keegan. Glaceau Vitaminwater were supposed to be bringing out Michelle Keegan for Cannes straight after the Soap Awards on Sat night, but she lost her passport. The last time she’d had it was when she and Max (from The Wanted) went on a weekend to Edinburgh two weeks ago, but couldn’t find it ANYWHERE. She’d even had her dad turn the house upside down to try and find it, and was really gutted that she didn't make it out to the film festival. So what did she miss out on? She was going to be introduced to Sarah Jessica Parker, and do a special shoot for Vitaminwater, but it wasn’t to be. Sadface.

We hung out with Vanessa Hudgens at the fancy Glaceau Vitaminwater for Art of Elysium party. She looked AMAZING and we think we love her a bit.

Naomi Campbell was full of the joys of spring at the Glaceau Vitaminwater-sponsored Hotel Martinez. No, really. When Naomi got wind of the fact her staff had turned away an autograph hunter at the hotel, she ran after the fan, got her details and invited her along to her Fashion For Relief event that evening. What a nice lady.

At the Glaceau Vitaminwater for Art Of Elysium party, Kristen Dunst’s boyfriend Jason Boesel did an impromptu karaoke set filled with lots of Rolling Stones covers while she looked on approvingly.

A source told The Sun: 'It could spark a national guessing game and make this year's series the most talked about yet.' Her agent Max Clifford confirmed the deal, saying: 'It would be interesting to see what comes out in the jungle.' Imogen has previously revealed how an appearance on the TV programme could be beneficial for her career.

Jedward are in line to join Imogen in the jungle

She said: 'I'd love to go in. I'd wear a bikini every day and make sure I took sexy showers like Myleene Klass did. That's all she did – and it worked!'

However, it seems Jedward might be a little harder to secure for some jungle fun as after being offered £200,000 to appear on the show, manager Louis Walsh is reportedly demanding an extra £100,000 for the boys.

But ITV are keen to secure a deal as a source said: 'Whatever your thoughts are on Jedward’s music, you can’t argue that the lads are great entertainment.

Johnny Depp will play Tonto in new take on the Lone Ranger legend

Johnny Depp, who managed to immortalize a character created from a theme park ride (Captain Jack Sparrow), is now set to take on a far more iconic role in a Disney film adaptation of the Lone Ranger legend.
Depp will be playing Tonto, the Lone Ranger's sidekick. Except, in this version, the Lone Ranger will be the sidekick. Depp says the aim is give the film a far different bent than what was depicted in such things as the 1950s "Lone Ranger" TV show.
"I remember watching (the show) as a kid and going: 'Why is the (expletive) Lone Ranger telling Tonto what to do?'" Depp tells Entertainment Weekly. "I knew Tonto was getting the unpleasant end of the stick here. When the idea came up (for a movie), I started thinking about Tonto and what could be done in my own small way try to reinvent the relationship, to attempt to take some of the ugliness thrown on the Native Americans -- not only in 'The Lone Ranger,' but the way Indians were treated throughout history of cinema -- and turn it on its head."
Armie Hammer, whose star has been rising in Hollywood since his portrayal of both Winklevoss twins in "The Social Network," has been cast as the Lone Ranger.
Jerry Bruckheimer is producing the film, and Gore Verbinski (who helmed the first three "Pirates of the Caribbean" films) will direct.

Mets knuckleballer Dickey baffles Yankees in 2-1 win

(Reuters) - Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey won an unlikely pitchers' duel as the visiting New York Mets nipped the New York Yankees 2-1 on Friday to take the opening game of their weekend Subway Series in interleague play.
 Dickey, who gave up six runs and 11 hits in five innings against the Astros his last time out, befuddled the Yankees for six innings.

The tricky right-hander yielded one run on four hits and struck out six to improve his record to 2-5 with the help of three spotless innings of relief and lift the injury-hit Mets to the .500 mark at 22-22 with their third successive win.

Mets first baseman Daniel Murphy, who had been mired in a batting slump, led off the sixth with a line-drive home run down the right-field line off Freddy Garcia to snap a 1-1 tie.

"I'm really proud of the way the club has held together with all the banged-up guys, Mets manager Terry Collins told reporters. "These guys have done nothing but gone out every night and just played as hard as they can play."

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Dickey had his batters fooled in the briskly played two-hour, 47-minute game that dropped the Yankees to 23-20.

"Whenever you face a knuckleballer you're not sure what's going to happen," said Girardi, whose lineup produced 13 runs on Thursday in a win against Baltimore.

"It's not something you see very often. It's a totally different day for all of our hitters."

Yankees starter Garcia (2-4), who yielded five runs in five innings in his last start against Boston, pitched five-hit ball for seven innings but took the loss as the Bronx Bombers went out with a whimper, stranding five men in scoring position.

The home team struck first when Mark Teixeira reached out and hooked a 3-1 pitch just over the outstretched glove of Mets right fielder Carlos Beltran and into the seats to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third.

The Mets answered in their next at-bat, with back-to-back doubles by Fernando Martinez and Justin Turner tying the game 1-1 in the top of the fourth.

A spectacular play by shortstop Jose Reyes kept the Yankees from scoring in the fifth.

With men on first and second and two out, Alex Rodriguez hit a sharp grounder that was headed for center-field. Reyes dove outstretched to snare the ball, popped up and fired to first to retire Rodriguez and end the inning.

Murphy immediately capitalized on the run-saving play with his fence-clearing blast for the game-winning run.

Mets relievers were superb in preserving the one-run lead as Mike O'Connor, Jason Isringhausen and closer Francisco Rodriguez each pitched a perfect inning as the last 11 Yankees were retired in order including seven by strikeout.

When Rodriguez, nicknamed "K-Rod" for the scoring symbol for a strikeout, fanned Nick Swisher for the last out of the game, it was met with the loudest roar for a visiting team victory likely to be heard this season at Yankee Stadium.

That was before he married Kennedy scion Maria Shriver. Then it all gets a little sticky. E! Online says Gigi claims to have had an encore engagement with Arnold around 1989, three years after he married Maria. It goes on to say that Arnold coughed up about $20,000 in 2003 to ensure Gigi didn't blab about their coupling during his run for California governor in 2003. (The site also mentions that the former body-builder has been cruelly disinvited from attending the opening of a Singapore theme park this weekend, thanks to the sexcapade scandal.)

Arnold Schwarzenegger admits to having a child, by housekeeper Mildred Baena, threatening his marriage. Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who resigned Wednesday as head of the International Monetary Fund, is indicted oncharges of sexual assault andattempted rape. And Nevada's John Ensign flees the Senate before he can be expelled for a nasty sex scandal.
He has quoted examples of Henry Kissinger In 1971, he said:"Power is the great aphrodisiac." Two years later, he pumped it up:"Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac."
Since David first set eyes on Bathsheba, powerful men have been doing foolish sexual things in a sybaritic salsa across the world's pages.

What is it with these guys? That question faces us with the depredations of power; amisled, disappointed search for intimacy; and the sickness at the heart of success. The rot within. Political analysts stress the link between sexual excess and power. "It's yet another confirmation of the truth of Lord Acton's aphorism that 'power [tends to] corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely,' " says Ross Baker, professor of political science at Rutgers. For Strauss-Kahn and Schwarzenegger, he says, that became " 'power delights and absolute power is absolutely delightful.' For those delightful moments, these two powerful men are paying the price of public humiliation."
Narcissism and abuse.
Politicians, studies suggest, are no more prone to affairs than nonpoliticians. But they live in a pressingly intimate world ripe for such encounters. On the May 18 Diane Rehm Show on NPR, Sandra Sobieraj-Westfall, Washington editor of People,told Rehm that public figures"become so cloistered by an apparatus of staff and pollsters and handlers . . . adoring . . . and enabling. . . . It does breed a sense of invincibility on top of an already superinflated ego."
Michele Swers, associate professor of government at Georgetown University, added that with Ensign, "you had adoring staffers who tried to protect him . . . and a story of sexual harassment and power over your employees." Eric Pape of Foreign Policy magazine said Strauss-Kahn enjoyed admiring throngs in finance, in politics, and in the classroom: "He had this job at the IMF that had him jet-setting around the world like he's a head of state. . . . Itcertainly creates a rock-star-like environment."
Abuse of power means abuseof people.
Philadelphia therapist SaraKay Smullens, an expert on abuse in families, says,"Schwarzenegger was abusing his whole family, notjust his housekeeper, but also Maria [Shriver], his wife, and all his children." Think of the women made public cuckolds by their prominent husbands: Hillary Rodham Clinton, Elizabeth Edwards, Darlene Ensign, Jenny Sanford, Shriver, and Silda Wall-Spitzer.
David Greenwald, a clinical psychologist with practices in Center City and Doylestown, says: "A certain number of the men I see, prone to very risky behavior like this, have a sense of entitlement: 'I deserve this. I don't have to play by the same rules as other people. Gravity doesn't apply to me. I'm an Alpha Male, and that goes with the territory.' " Trying to fill the lack. But Greenwald adds that "many more of my patients are people who have never had asense of being loved, and who, therefore, substitute compulsive sexual encounters, which at least give some sense of connection."
Robert Weiss, founding director of the Sexual Recovery Institute in Los Angeles, says: "These are people who, always having lacked control, search for what they can't ever have: controllable intimacy. It has to be intense; a spouse can never do it." Exhibit A: Bill Clinton. "Abandonment and alcoholism in the family, and he develops a skill set whereby he can get intimacyby entertaining and getting close to people."
As Smullens puts it: "There's a grandiosity that's a cover-up for severe kinds of insecurity." It cuts across all classes and professions, says Weiss, "from politicians to firefighters." Is it more of a male thing?"Among people we treat," Weiss says, "80 percent of the men act out through sex, and 80 percent of the women through food. But the syndrome is largely the same."
The psychopathy of achievement. Irony and sadness abound. Society gives permission to such men and their drives, Weiss says, "because their achievements help drive society forward." But as Greenwald observes, "It has an effect on the whole culture, because these guys are searching for $10 billion bonuses while their companies bust the economy."
Not to call anyone a psychopath, but there is a disturbing trend. Kevin Dutton, expert on psychopathy among CEOs and author of Split-Second Persuasion , a study of the ways of charmers and seductives, says: "The kind ofpersonality that rises to the top of shark-infested professions like politics and finance tends to be ruthless, fearless, charming, and somewhat lacking in the conscience department. Nowwhile such attributes are pretty much de rigueur in the business world, if the corporate cage suddenly springs open and the beast gets out into everyday life, it's almost certainly going to end in tears."

水野美紀がフルヌード挑戦の話題作がカンヌで5分間のスタンディングオベーション

[ムビコレNEWS]　 『愛のむきだし』（08年）や『冷たい熱帯魚』（11年）などで、日本のみならず、世界中からも注目を集める園子温監督。彼の最新作となる『恋の罪』が、開催中の第64回カンヌ国際映画祭「監督週間」に出品。現地時間5月18日に公式上映が行われ、園監督とキャストの神楽坂恵が舞台挨拶に登壇した。

同作は、1997年に渋谷区円山町で実際に起こった東電OL殺人事件にインスパイアされた作品。水野美紀、冨樫真、神楽坂恵の3女優が、女優生命をかけ渾身の演技合戦を繰り広げており、水野がフルヌードを初披露していることも話題を呼んでいる。

この日の上映では、女の壮絶な生き様を描いた内容にも関わらず何度も笑いが起こるなど観客の反応もすこぶる良好で、上映後には5分間に及ぶスタンディングオベーションも巻き起こった。

なお、同作は海外セールスも好調で、すでに10ヵ国からオファーが届き、イギリス、香港では公開が決定。映画祭期間中にさらに数ヵ国との契約が成立する見込みだという。

『恋の罪』は2011年11月よりテアトル新宿ほかてに全国公開となる。

Freedom Flotilla 2 to set sail for Gaza

As hundreds of International pro-Palestine activists gear up to set sail to Gaza, the Gaza harbor is undergoing some maintenance work to ensure its safety to receive a flotilla of some 15 medium-sized boats and cargo ships, carrying around 1000 activists including parliamentarians and human rights activists from more than 30 countries.

The flotilla is to deliver much-needed humanitarian aid to the Palestinians of Gaza next month. Currently a monument is being built at the port in memory of the peace activists who lost their lives on May 31at last year.

Organizers of the latest humanitarian mission were expected to reach Gaza on the 31st of May to mark the 1st anniversary of the Israeli naval attack on the freedom flotilla which left 9 activists dead and many others wounded. However, the original plan was abandoned due to repeated threats by Israel. The flotilla will now set sail in late June. The vessels will depart from various European ports.

Although Israel withdrew its settlers from Gaza in 2005, it has continued to control the inhabitants' lives by imposing a long-running blockade. Since 2007, it has prevented most human traffic in and out of the densely populated Strip, while restricting imports and banning almost all exports.

The Freedom flotilla is a human rights coalition, of which the European Campaign to End the Siege on Gaza is a founding member. The Freedom Flotilla has sailed since August 2008 to break Israel's illegal stranglehold, successfully arriving in Gaza five times, however, the past four voyages have been violently intercepted.

Twins John and Edward Grimes have been approached after execs saw them take eighth place at the Eurovision Song Contest - but manager Louis Walsh wants another £100,000 for the pair.

The approach comes after a peak audience of 12.9million tuned in to see the pair on the song contest - and ITV execs want a slice of that when the jungle reality show returns in November.

A source said: "Whatever your thoughts are on Jedward's 'music', you can't argue that the lads are great entertainment - 13 million BBC viewers can't be wrong.

DSK granted $1 mln bail and given home detention

BEIJING, May 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been formally indicted on charges that he sexually abused a hotel maid. At a court hearing on Thursday, he was also granted a one-million-dollar bail and given home detention.

New York State Supreme Court Judge Michael Obus approved the bail, but paperwork for Strauss-Kahn's release will not be signed until Friday.

This means the former IMF chief has to spend one more night in jail.

The bail terms set for Strauss-Kahn include $1 million US dollars in cash, home detention and electronic monitoring in New York.

The judge also said Strauss-Kahn must have one armed guard at all times at his own expense and have a 5 million dollar insurance bond.

Obus also set an arraignment hearing for June 6, when Strauss-Kahn will formally answer charges.

Prosecutors had opposed bail and told the judge during the hearing that Strauss-Kahn has "the personal, political and financial means to flee." They said no bail package would be enough to insure he would return to court.

In a letter announcing his resignation from the IMF on Wednesday, Strauss-Kahn strongly denied charges of a criminal sexual act, attempted rape, sexual abuse, unlawful imprisonment and forcible touching.

If convicted, the former IMF managing director faces up to 25 years in prison.

Mac Miller Talks His Debut Album, Working With Just Blaze

Mac Miller has been heating up the streets with mixtapeslike K.I.D.S. and Best Day Ever over the past few years, but the 19-year-old is gearing up for the release of his official debut.
The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native spoke to Jessie Maguire about his forthcoming Rostrum Records album, explaining that he’s being given complete creative freedom. “Luckily, my label situation, I’m on Rostrum, that’s basically just being with my family,” he said. “That’s the beauty of it, we’re doing everything independently. Asfar as the creative process, I don’t have to answer to anybody. They have full 100 percent faith in what I do creatively.” His goal is to make a cohesive record without any added pressure. “For the album, that’s the thing. I got there, just kicking it, not expecting to make any music - which we did,” he said. “I just stayed there all night until like 9 in the morning. Though the fate of the recordis unclear, Miller is looking forward to getting off tour and focusing entirely on making new music. “I get to hang out finally and sit and make music, which is something I haven’t done in a long time. Since K.I.D.S., I haven’t sat in one place for months at a time and made music,” he said. “So that’s myplan for the summer, is to just work on music, get an album together. (In Wednesday's edition, we didrun a longer piece because it included the first public statements of both Schwarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver, about the affair.) Due to Schwarzenegger's celebrity before becoming a politician and the political ties of Shriver's family (she is the daughter of Sargent Shriver and Eunice Kennedy Shriver) and her own celebrity as a television journalist and author, the couple often has been in thelimelight. Dominique Strauss Kahn vs Susan Estrich: Rape haunts victims forever

"I didn't wish to be the girl who had a problem with a politician for the rest of my life."

So said Tristane Banon, in explaining why she didn't file charges nine years ago against Socialist politician and current International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn. It was her mother, Anne Mansouret, also a Socialist politician, who advised her against it. As Mansouret recounted the conversation, she told her daughter:

"Listen, you know, if he had raped you, I wouldn't have any hesitation, but that wasn't the case. He sexually assaulted you; there wasn't any rape per se. So until the end of your life, you're going to have on your resume, you know, Tristane Banon is the girl who..."

I don't blame Mansouret in the least. Many parents have trouble when their children are sexually assaulted. When I was raped, my mother told me not to tell anyone or no man would have me. I didn't listen to the first part, but I am sure I internalized the second.


When my students or former students come to me asking whether they should file discrimination cases against powerful men who have harassed them or worse, I always tell them — as Mansouret did — that just because they are telling the truth does not mean they won't be branded as a troublemaker or worse. Fair warning.

But I also tell them that if they have the courage to do it (and no one has an obligation to be a hero after they've been victimized), they may end up saving the lives or sanity of the women who would come next, to whom he would do the same thing, even if they never know that, even the women, like Banon, who were allegedly assaulted years earlier.

There are some men who are only abusive once, or only abusive to one particular woman. But in my experience, that is the exception rather than the rule. Nothing comes out until the first woman speaks up, and then you just wait.

Banon is speaking out because a hotel maid in New York City did.

'L.A. Noire' Is A Video Game That's Like A Film

A new videogame offers up another way to experience life on the Los Angeles Police Department circa 1947.

Syahrini Minta Polisi Usut Tuntas Penyebar Fotonya

Kapanlagi.com - Artis penyanyi Syahrini kecewa atas beredarnya foto-foto koleksi pribadinya ke publik. Dia meminta kepada pihak kepolisian untuk secepatnya mengusut tuntas kasus tersebut, hingga ditemukan pelakunya dan diproses secara hukum.

Kepala Bagian Humas Polres Jakarta Selatan, AKP Aswin saat dihubungi melalui telepon, Kamis (19/05/2011), mengungkapkan perasaan jengkel pelapor, yang menganggap nama dan imagenya telah dicemarkan akibat foto tersebut.

"Yang bersangkutan memang kecewa atas penyebaran foto-foto pribadinya yang menjurus pada pencemaran nama baik, pembunuhan karakter dan image dirinya. Ia meminta kasus ini dilakukan penyelidikan sampai tuntas," ujar Aswin.

２４歳の若さで自殺したタレント、上原美優さんは、さまざまな悩みを抱えていたと伝えられているが、「東日本大震災後に、津波の衝撃映像を見て、不安をつのらせていた。引き金になったのかもしれない」と話すテレビ関係者がいる。

　３月１１日の震災後には、人気バンド「スピッツ」のボーカル、草野マサムネ（４３）が、急性ストレス障害と診断され、公演を中止。「（震災の）想像を絶する被害の甚大さ、原発の深刻な状況などを目の当たりにし続けることで、本人に急激な過度なストレスが襲いかかり、精神的な障害にまで発展した」と公式ＨＰで発表して話題になった。

　実際に被災していなくても、精神的に追い詰められている人をインターネット上では“エア被災者”と揶揄する書き込みまで現われる始末だ。

　「テレビの衝撃映像や、インターネットの仮想現実に囲まれた現代人特有の症状で、深刻です」

　こう話すのは精神科医の日向野春総氏。とくに感受性の高い人は要注意で、芸能人にも顕著だという。症状には３つのタイプがあるという。

　（１）常にテレビに出演する仕事の人は、震災の悲惨な映像を見て、自分もその場にいる姿を想像してしまう

　（２）ロケなど仕事で、被災した場所に行った経験のある人は、変わり果てた東北の景色を見ただけで、自分が体験したように感じてしまう

　（３）チャリティーやボランティアなどに自分が誘われなかったり、時間が割けない場合、行けないことによる懺悔の気持ちが強まり、自分を罰しようとしてしまう

　このように被災地以外でのＰＴＳＤの原因はさまざま。日向野氏のもとにも相談に訪れているプロダクション関係者がいるという。「治療は一筋縄ではいかない。様子がおかしかったら、励ましたりしないで、話を聞いてあげて、専門医に連れてきてほしい。アルコールは禁忌です。錯乱する可能性がある」と警告。「関東大震災や阪神大震災とも異なり、放射能という目に見えない不安も無意識のうちに追い詰めている。症状が出るのは、弱い人なのではなく、感受性が強いのだという理解が周囲には必要」と話している。

The entertainer, one of two musical acts who graced the elimination show, had everyone delighted with two singles.

Sharing first her new single ‘Single Love’ and first heard on prime time. The song, from the new album, In your Dreams, was well received by the audience with people popping up from their chairs to give the artist a standing ovation.

Coming back later in the program, Stevie Nicks took time to perform a Fleetwood Mac classic that made everyone’s heart melt. Singing Landslide, the entertainer had everyone in a nostalgic moment that was delightfully special to those who loved the song.

Azerbaijan Is the Surprise Winner In the Eurovision Pop Song Contest

Singing a song entitled “Running Scared” that Europe has started to fall in love with, Azerbaijan’s Eldar and Nikki won the 56th Eurovision pop song contest, beating early favorites from France and England, Italy and Sweden.

The longest running televised pop music competition in the world, the Eurovision contest is decided by its thousands of fans all over Europe who phone in their choices of songs and singers, as well as by a jury composed of professionals from the music industry.

Italy’s Raphael Gualazzi came in second and third prize went to Sweden’s Eric Saade, who was the early favorite, following two semifinal runs and a full dress rehearsal in the last two weeks before yesterday’s Grand Finals staged at Germany’s Dussedorf Stadium.

Sweden’s third- place finish was actually sweetened by the fact that the Azerbaijani’s winning song “Running Scared” was written by Swedish composers Stefan Orn and Sandra Bjurman.

Last year’s winner Lena of Germany, who also represented her country this year didn’t fare too well, placing 10th, a mild disappointment for her European fans who had been ecstatic over her 2010 winning song, “Satellite” that made her a star.

Europe’s English-speaking countries, UK and Ireland, sent entries and succeeded in improving Eurovision’s ratings not only in the mainland for the first time in many years.

England completed their pre-World Cup match schedule with only their second victory in 20 meetings with Sweden, ranked five places above Hope Powell's team and not defeated by England since 1984 – when Powell herself was in midfield.

Six weeks after defeating the world's top-ranked nation, the USA, with an outstanding performance England began nervously against the Swedes and were clearly missing the injured key players Faye White, the captain and central defender, and the midfielder Fara Williams. Hesitancy in defence almost cost them dear in the early stages, most notably when the right-back Alex Scott's poor clearing header fell for the left-winger Therese Sjogran to shoot against the near post from 15 yards.

But they recovered from their jittery start to have a good spell in which the left-back Rachel Unitt had a 17th-minute shot cleared off the line by her opposing number Sara Thunebro. The Swedes regained the upper hand, however, and the home goalkeeper Karen Bardsley had to make good saves from Thunebro and the striker Linda Forsberg before half-time.

But England made a tremendous start to the second half, the Everton midfielder Jill Scott rising at the far post to head home the left-winger Rachel Yankey's corner within a minute of the restart. The substitute Eniola Aluko should have increased the lead in the 68th minute, racing clear of the defence but shooting against the legs of Hedvig Lindahl as the keeper dashed off her line.

Two minutes later, though, England's advantage was doubled when the substitute Karen Carney of Birmingham City drilled home a penalty after Alex Scott had been fouled by the central defender Charlotte Rohlin.

Jill Scott loses 50 lbs and says 'I'm in a good place'

"I'm past caring about some things that never mattered in the first place and [I'm] in love with my baby boy," Scott says in the June issue of Ebony, according to CNN.

Scott gave birth to her son Jett Hamilton Roberts in April 2009. The baby's father is Lil' John Roberts, Scott's boyfriend at the time and drummer in her stage band. The couple broke up a month after the child's birth. Previously Scott was married to Lyzel Williams, a DJ and graphic artist from 2001 to 2007.

The singer, who is also on the cover of the issue, adds, "I'm also unafraid. I know how much music has always meant to me, how much it means to us all, and I know there's someone out there, maybe just one someone, who can feel inspired by being brave."

As for getting fit, Scott says she got a little help from a personal trainer who knows her work out style. "Anything that makes me feel like I'm not working out. We go outside and throw footballs, go for walks," she said.

Modern Warfare 3 details leak ahead of upcoming unveiling

With official world from Activision on the next Call of Duty gaming release expected within the coming weeks new reports have suggested the eagerly awaited title will launch around the world on November 8th.

The reports, which suggest the mooted Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 release will follow the early November arrival and last year’s Black Ops title, claim developer Infinity Ward has teamed up with Activision studio Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software to produce the next instalment to the hugely successful gaming franchise.

Further leaks on the upcoming Call of Duty addition suggest the Modern Warfare 3 release will feature large-scale destructible environments, moving away from the game’s currently linear format. The more expansive storyline for the upcoming release is claimed to follow directly on from the climax of Modern Warfare 2, set in an urban environment “with military vehicles, including tanks, rolling through suburban streets.”

Speculation around the release date of what will arguably be the gaming industry’s biggest release of the year is rife with an internal Tesco database leak also suggesting that Modern Warfare 3, codenamed ‘Call of Duty: Project Collossus’ will be released on November 8th.
