Ides Of March: Superstition and Kids

Are you having a good morning so far? Today is March 15  and to some it is also the Ides of March, the day when gloom and doom is on the horizon according to William Shakespeare . I grew up not believing in superstition at all, and I still don’t.I teach my kids that superstition is ridiculous and there is no way to bring about back luck for yourself. Yet, I still know many people who not only believe in it, they change aspects of their life to avoid it. I once knew someone who believed that if you put a pair of new shoes on the table, you’d probably be better off selling your house than staying there just to avoid the bad luck that would soon swoop down upon you. Her kids were similarly neurotic about such old wives’ tales.
