Read More: March 14 is Pi Day - A Fun Idea for Family ActivitiesAny good excuse for a fun family day or activity is worth some personal attention. A few years ago, my oldest son got wind of Pi Day. It is celebrated each March 14 (think 3.14) to recognize and teach about the mathematical term Pi. As you may remember, Pi is defined as the relationship between a circle’s diameter and its circumference. You can calculate the circumference of a circle by multiplying its diameter by Pi (which is approximately 3.1415926535. If you know the diameter of a circle, you can also calculate its area by squaring the radius of the circle and multiplying by Pi. One of the most fun things about Pi is that it has an infinite number of digits after the 3.14 and there is no real pattern.

Anyway, Pi is a cool thing and March 14 is a good way to celebrate this critical math and geometry concept. What can you do to celebrate Pi Day?
- You can create your own games about ways to use Pi, or you can put some problems on cards and have your kids solve them using Pi. Of you can try this Pi Day quiz online.
- You can run, jog, walk or bicycle Pi miles together as a family
- You can bake and eat a Pi(e) or you can make cookies and decorate them with the Pi symbol
- You can look up your phone number in the Pi digits--it will be there somewhere.
- See who can memorize the most digits of Pi. There are over one million on this site.
Anyway, Pi Day is a fun opportunity to learn and have fun together as a family! Take advantage!

Sister Wives; Season 2 premiere: Ice blocking, coming out and police investigations - From Inside the Box - Zap2it
'Sister Wives' Season 2 premiere: Ice blocking, coming out and police investigations - From Inside the Box - Zap2it MEET KODY BROWN: Kody: 40-years old, father of 16 children, husband to four women – married Meri in April 1990, Janelle in January 1993, Christine in March 1994, and Robyn in May 2010. The focus of the season premiere is what has happened to the family since going public with their polygamy. The second season kicks off with the adults "coming out" on various mediums and platforms, so Season 2 must have picked up pretty soon after the show began airing, we would assume. Since before all of that, nobody knew anything about the Brown family. But they aren't regretful about coming out because they're glad to show their solid family to the world. The entire discussion of the different wives' taste in pictures and photography abilities was sweet and funny, very indicative of a normal marriage issue. Meanwhile, not only are the adults on the show "coming out" in places like the "Today Show" and whatnot, but many of the younger kids are attending public school for the first time. Meri has a good point to make in that kids today are tolerant and taught tolerance, which we think is true. There are, of course, incidents you read about of horrendous bullying, but by and large, we think every passing generation gets more tolerant. Some of the teenagers who are 'net savvy took to reading the blogs about their show/lives/family and hey - did you find our blog? We have been very supportive! The negative/scary fallout of the going public is the police investigation of the family and the paparazzi starting to harass the family. Yikes. They have to sit the kids down and talk about being safe and being smart and how that just because someone knows their names does not mean they are friendly.

Big Picture Speculator -Uranium Uranium Portfolio
Uranium stocks were sorely beaten up before the broad market crash. It looks like the selling was overdone as we saw some major bounces in uranium companies over the Christmas holidays. The chart below (courtesy of Resource World) lists some of the larger un-mined uranium deposits in the world. The price per pound in the ground on these deposits ranges from the $0.10 to $10 range. Clearly not all uranium deposits are valued equally. I'd like to revisit my pre-Christmas post Why Buy Stocks? I've summarized your comments . I am sure that uranium stocks were the last things on people's minds while reading the article (mineincluded). However, the benefit of hindsight, I'm pretty sure the people who bought uranium stocks last week are in favor of their buying decisions. As an example, Denison Mines closed on Christmas Eve at $0.82 and closed last Friday at $2.10. I've written about uranium companies in my blog, but I usually don't get into too much detail. I try to save that for my email list and newslettersubscribers. It is challenging to find quality companies as there are literally hundreds of uranium companies around. In a tough market, it pays to be picky. In my latest report, I've created a portfolio of 7 uranium companies that I believewill survive the market downturn and thrive in the coming years. In addition, I've uncovered a company run buy some of Canada's Stock Market Superstars. The company is trading below book value (which is mostly cash at the moment), yet the group has one of the best long term investingtrack records in Canada. They've been quiet about their activities due to regulatory requirements but won't be a secret for much longer. My paying newsletter subscribers were sent this report Sunday night. I'm offering you the same report for only $45 so you can get up to speed on some new opportunities in 2009.

Time to Spring Your Clocks Forward Daylight Savings Time began at 12 a.m. this morning.
If you haven't already, it's time to spring your clocks ahead one-hour for Daylight Savings Time. Beginning at 12 a.m. today, we’ll all be getting one less hour of that precious sleep because it’s time again to set our clocks forward. According to the National Sleep Foundation , there really is no set number of hours of sleep that an average adult should get because there are somany variables to consider. How it Works During the late winter, we lose an hour when we set our clocks forward. In the fall, we gain an hour when we turn our clocks backward. Hence the “spring forward, fall back” phrase to help us remember which direction we’re moving in. During World War I, Daylight Saving Time was instituted in the United States in order tosave energy for war production. During World War II, the government again required the states to observe the time change. For the time between the two wars --and after World War II --states and communities individually chose whether or not to observe Daylight SavingTime. In 1966, Congress passed the Uniform Time Act, which standardized the length of Daylight Saving Time. In 2007, Daylight Saving Time became four weeks longer because ofthe passage of the Energy Policy Act. The thought behind the act was that extending Daylight Saving Time could save the country 10,000 barrels of oil each day as businesses reduced power usage during daylight hours. More than 1 billion people in about 70 countries throughout the world observe Daylight Saving Time.
