Ference will have to pay for gesture
Andrew Ference gave the one finger salute Thursday night to Montreal hockey fans.
One way or another he'll have to pay.
The Boston Bruins defenceman was taking it on the chin when he was caught by the Hockey Night in Canada cameras flipping the bird to the fans at the Bell Centre after scoring at 9:59 of the second period.
It will go down in Montreal Canadiens' folklore as the"Ference Finger"and he'll join the long list of Boston players already hated in the city. Ference will likely still be in line behind villain Zdeno Chara, though.
While Ference apologized for the incident and was being ripped on twitter, he'll certainly face the maximum fine of $2,500 US and there is a chance he'll get suspended because Gary Bettman doesn't take this lightly.
"This is what really enrages me,"said CBC analyst Glenn Healy.
Healy won't be alone on that front.
